About Me

Driven by service, learning, and leadership.

My experiences in YMCA, Peace Club, and school programs have helped me build confidence and contribute to my community.

My name is Amerti Biru, and I am a Grade 11 student at ASTU Special School. I am passionate about leadership, personal development, and community service. I actively participate in extracurricular activities that help me develop my skills, gain new experiences, and make a positive impact on my school and community.

I am an active member of the YMCA. My journey with YMCA began when I completed a five-day training program and received a certificate. Since then, I have participated in several trainings, workshops, and youth development activities. These experiences have strengthened my communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills while increasing my confidence and sense of responsibility.

One of my proudest achievements this year was helping establish the Peace Club at ASTU Special School with the support of YMCA. During the planning process, I contributed several ideas and action plans, many of which were accepted and implemented.

One of the most successful initiatives was the Student Police Program, where students take daily responsibility for promoting discipline, respect, and harmony within the school environment.
